What is Aspiring Growth?

Aspiring Growth was created to serve clients who desire growth in their work and in their lives. As a lover of language and the power words can have to move us, I found it really important to choose the right name for my company.

The word “aspire” comes from the Latin word “aspirare” meaning “to breathe.” When we are in ambitious pursuit of the best version of ourselves, we open up space to breathe and see all the possibilities available to us.  To aspire means more than pursuing our goals: it means reaching greater heights than we knew were possible.

Growth can be in any area of your work or personal life.  Living with a “growth mindset” allows you to learn from each experience, know that growth is always possible, and strive for more.  Often, when growth occurs in one area, that change impacts many areas of your life.

For me, I have found that success comes from aspiring growth in three key areas: performance, passion and purpose.

Performance is a combination of skills and execution. Once the skills are obtained through training, workshops, and ongoing practice, the work on performance shifts to enhancement. With a focus on performance, we explore what your ideal state looks like, understand where you are currently, and identify what roadblocks are getting in your way. New paths are uncovered, and through action and accountability, results are achieved.

Passion lies at the heart of what you do and who you are. Identifying and embracing your passion can ignite your work and your life. Using a strengths-based approach to coaching, we explore what your passions are, what meaning they bring to you, and how you want to embrace them.

Purpose is the “why” you do what you do. Simon Sinek’s powerful TedTalk (and book) “Start with Why,” truly represents a critical piece in the success model for both companies and individual professionals. When you know your “why,” your purpose has the power to guide all actions you take – both the doing and the being – for your work and for your life. Living your purpose leads to fulfillment.

 

As the Founder and Principal of Aspiring Growth,Inc., Heather brings more than 20 years of experience focused on extraordinary client service, demonstrating value, and the science and art of sales.

In her earliest days as a telemarketer and a door-to-door salesperson, Heather developed her passion for people. Through the exploration of human connection and the power of language to close the sale, Heather embraced a consultative approach to selling. She spent more than 18 years with RBC Wealth Management, Canada’s leading wealth management firm, supporting wealth management professionals and branch managers to achieve business excellence and deliver exceptional service to their clients.

Heather’s diverse experience includes program management for both fee-based programs and wealth management solutions; leading the delivery of sales and wealth management training to 100 new advisors annually and developing wealth training programs for seasoned professionals, during which time she also assumed the role of Head of Diversity for Wealth Management Canada; and most recently, leading the Global Sales Enablement team, supporting wealth professionals across the firm’s global offices.

To complement her experience, Heather obtained her professional coaching certification from Adler.  She holds the ATC and ACC designations, is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF),  and completed the Living Systems Approach™ certification for Team Coaching.  She also holds The Attentional and Interpersonal Style Inventory (TAIS) Assessment certification, and Organizational Change Management certification from Pro-Sci.

An accomplished speaker, Heather has delivered hundreds of presentations to a variety of audiences, as both a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator, including wealth management professionals, business owners, accountants, and lawyers.

As a long-standing member of Toastmasters, she has competed in numerous speech contests, mentored successful contestants vying for the world stage, and regularly delivers inspirational presentations and workshops.
